Prof. Dr. Janusz A. Strzępka, holder of a postdoctoral degree is the Manager of the Department of Economic and Commercial Law of the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Post-Graduate Economic and Commercial Law of the same university. At the University he gives lectures and runs seminars in economic and commercial law, particularly in the law of business liabilities, company law, and bankruptcy and reorganisation law. He also cooperates with the Warsaw School of Economics.
His scientific interests focus on the problems related to the law of liabilities, company law, bankruptcy law and arrangement law. He is the author of many scientific works in the field of civil and commercial law (Udział w Systemie Prawa Prywatnego/Participation in the System of Private Law; Systemie Prawa Gospodarczego i Handlowego/in the System of Economic and Commercial Law; Komentarz do Kodeksu Spółek Handlowych/Commentary to the Commercial Company Code).
He is a scholar of the Humboldt Foundation. In the years 1985-1986 and 1990-1991 he was a scholar at the University in Bonn at the Instytut für Internationales Privatrecht und Rechtsvergleichung.
